Facilities for Diagnostic Imaging and Interventional Radiology - HBN 6, supplement 1

Health Building Note 6, supplement 1 (1994), Facilities for Diagnostic Imaging and Interventional Radiology, provides planning and design guidance for magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) suites against a background of rapid change. MRI scanners are getting smaller, lighter and portable models are appearing on the market. It complements the guidance contained in Health Building Note (HBN) 6 - ‘Radiology department’, published in 1992.

The MRI suite is assumed to be an integral part of the radiology department but, where this is not so, additional accommodation may be required and these options are described.
